TAIWAN - DAY 1

All my Taiwan trip post will still be dated according to when I spent the day. Of course, I only can blog after I'm back. I definitely don't have the time to blog there. Enjoy (:

DAY 1!
All prepared for our trip! Didn't sleep for the night!
We waited for a cab but I don't know why they don't want to pick us. I saw them looked at our luggages and drove off.

Seriously, I'll definitely lodge a complaint to the taxi companies. Too ridiculous.

Luckily, the queue to check in wasn't too long. Sofia and Faizal came to send us off. We had our breakfast together at McDonald's.

Passport and boarding pass. All ready to go.

Tiger Airway isn't as bad as Jas described. It's not very squeezy, almost similar as mainstream airlines. Just that no food provided and no entertainment.

But who cares? I just need water since it's a 4.5 hours flight and I wanted to sleep.

I was very excited because I haven't take aeroplane for many years. I always love it when it flies up to the sky.

That's part of the reasons why I love aircraft so much ♥♥

My sisters and I, we were quite 'sua ku'.
We didn't know how to use the biometric thingy as the last time we travelled, all went through by chops. Stupid JJ laughed at us =.=

We reached Taiwan in the afternoon. (Thank goodness that we are in the same timezone). Both JJ and I went on to buy the prepaid for 3G usage.

Didn't know they have age limit to buy - 20 years old. So my sisters couldn't buy since one person is entitled to one.

Note to travellers: 2 official documents are needed to purchase; Passport and NRIC.

We got them for NT500 each, with 20 minutes of calling time within Taiwan and unlimited usage of 3G for 7 days. It's about SGD 20.

We cabbed to our hotel.

The drivers in Taiwan are really daring and scary; It's as they are in the movie,
Initial D. I ended up with motion sickness.

舞衣新宿 (Mai Hotel)
Address:
No. 15, Lane 105, Section 1, Zhong Shan North Road, Taipei
中山北路一段105巷15號.

Mummy & Uncle came back after we reached the hotel for awhile (They went 1 day before us).

Our room!

We went out to have lunch. We decided to eat at Yoshinoya!

Their menu. Different from the ones in Singapore and Japan.

My lunch.

After going back to the hotel and rest, my sisters, JJ and I decided to go ahead for shopping. We went to Taipei City mall 台北地下街.

We took a their MRT to Taipei main Station (1 stop away).

Their ticketing machine.

The ticket/coin for us to scan, just like our ezlink card.

We walked for quite some time to find the place. It's a big underground shopping centre located at Taipei Station.

The odd number side of the underground shopping mall.

They have both odd number and even number sides.
Both sides are filled with shops; accessories, clothes, comics, food, drinks, fengshui and many different types of shops.

Just by walking down from one end to the other end, it took us quite some time, not to mention about including shopping time.

My sisters bought quite a number of books. And me? I bought these....

Charmy kitty towel, earrings, hair clip and hair band.

Close up; my pretty earrings.

I bought a pair of heels too. It costs me around SGD60. But it's really comfy. Gonna replace my old heels for work (:

We went back after shopping for 2 hours to meet mummy and uncle for dinner. Together, We took the train to Shilin Night market 士林夜市.

Note to travellers: it's not exactly at Shilin station. It's one stop before if you are taking train up from zhongshan station.

At the night market, there are many stalls selling food, clothes and desserts. Too many for us to decide on what to eat because all look interesting and delicious. LOL.

We walked around and we tried many food; sweet potato, fried meat bun, fishballs etc.

We didn't managed to try the chicken cutlet as we were too full.

They got some food like 大肠包小肠 (Big intestine wrap small intestine), 猪血糕 (Pig's blood) but I don't dare to eat. HAHA.

Mango snow.

We bought some fruits back and they totalled up to SGD 40. Didn't know till we pay. Like omg, really got so expensive anot. But the fruits were nice (:

After walking around, we went back home and rest.

JJ and I, we were too tired so we decided to go for foot massage. Wanted to do body massage but it's too expensive, more expensive than Singapore.

Foot spa !

Ok, that's all for day 1 !

SHOPPING!
