2ND TAIWAN TRIP; DAY 1 TO 3

The following Taiwan trip 2013 posts are typed after coming back from the holiday (:

DAY 1
Reached airport in the morning and the queue for Tiger Airways going to Taiwan was quite long. Must be the school holiday which caused this.

Met up with mummy and auntie's family. After checking in, we went into the transit area to have our breakfast.

Finally heading to TW (:

After getting our new prepaid card (EACH SIM CARD ONLY VALID FOR 180 DAYS), we went to our hotel, XIMEN HOTEL. 

To our surprise, the room is very small and level 5 (which we believe that the rooms have yet to undergo renovation) look very 'lok kok' & old.

We decided to walk around to see if there are other hotels to change.

First, we walked to Ximending and have my 阿宗麵線 which I didn't get to eat back then.

After walking and asking around, there wasn't any place for us to move over. After all, we have too many people and needed 4 rooms. Sigh~

Oh well, we definitely can make do with whatever we have.

We went back to the hotel and rest before heading to 士林夜市 (Shilin nightmarket) for food. We were trying the food as we walked down the whole stretch of stalls.


This store sells good smelly tofu. Should try, it's crispy and nice (:

I thought that's like pig's organs but it ended up to be rice in the shape of sausage wrapping a sausage. LOL.


蚝煎. Oyster omelette.

Don't really like it as the sauce was covering the whole dish's taste.

After eating, we went back and rest.

Bb and I went to the pub which we went the other time to look for Seven 哥. He wasn't there so we chilled and played darts before heading to PartyWorld to find him.

The room in PartyWorld is quite cool and they have a toilet inside. So convenient for people who are singing inside.

That night, we met some new friends from HK. It's really pleasant to meet them and to talk about our own countries.

DAY 2
First stop of the day: Long Shan Temple 龙山寺.

We went in and prayed to many different gods.

Saw 月下老人's statue and there were some red strings. I hesitated about taking the strings. But in the end, I didn't take.

After that, we went to 鬍鬚張台北永吉店 (Formosa Chang Taipei Yong-Chi branch) for lunch before shopping at WuFenPu.

This time, there wasn't much things for us to buy.
I didn't buy any clothes there, or rather, most of us didn't buy anything there even though it's supposed to be Spring season's designs.

In addition, it's difficult to shop with many guys around. We can't be staying in the shop for very long and let them wait outside the shop :/

Since there weren't anything much for us to buy, we went back to Ximending. Bb and I dropped at Zhongxiao Fuxing to buy things from SOGO before heading back to hotel.

Surprisingly, the weather in Taipei was very cold even though it's supposed to be spring. Probably colder than my house's air conditioner. I don't even feel like getting out of the hotel.

At night. we went to 三和夜市(san he nightmarket) for dinner.

We alighted at the wrong stop and we ended up have to walk in this freezing weather (we didn't really bring much clothes for such weather, especially for my case.)

We tried to look for the bubble tea shop which we bought back in our last trip but we couldn't find it. Sigh~ what a waste. I really love the black sugar milk tea.

After going back, Allen, Bernard, Bb and I changed before heading to Club Luxy. It's Ladies night!

To me, I don't really fancy the club though it has very nice lightings.

The music - Literally playing the whole song. Even when the DJ was there to spin, it's still quite bad.

Drinks - Unlike Singapore's clubs, their cocktails are really limited to the menu itself. They don't even know what's Jaggerbomb and AK47.

The crowd - Quite a number of locals and foreigners (Asians & Caucasians).

I even got picked up by some Taiwanese guys, asking if they can offer me drinks.
It's really scary, especially when this is not my homeland and I only have 3 guys with me.

After chatting a little, I slipped off, texting the guys to come over to the ladies to meet me before heading back to the hotel.

We bought some beers and food back to enjoy abit more (:

DAY 3
It's 17 degree Celsius and it's freaking cold out there.

By right, it shouldn't be that cold but the wind was way too strong. 
My super thick jacket which I used in lecture hall didn't really work. Tempted me to buy some winter wear to keep myself warm.

In the afternoon, we went to 淡水老街 (Danshui) to walk around. As usual, we brought Auntie's family to try the food which are unique in the area.

Of course, we ended up buying lots of food to give away.
Too many till we have to carry it back to hotel before going other place.

At night, we went to 公馆夜市 (gong guan nightmarket).
It's not exactly a nightmarket but they do sell food along the alley.

We went to a shop to have our dinner.


Dinner! (Sorry, I forgot what's the shop name. It's at one end of the alley).

After dinner, we went back to hotel to rest.

TAIWAN - DAY 2

DAY 2
Almost couldn't wake up for breakfast. HAHA.

This hotel has good reviews on the breakfasts. It's like those home cooked style.


Our breakfast !

First stop of the day; City god Temple 霞海城隍庙. 
It's famous for tourists or even local to go there to pray for a good marriage/relationship.

It's pretty near to the place where we stayed at.

People usually pray to the "Old man under the moon" aka 月下老人, which will give you a red string if the person you prayed to be with is suitable for you.

I went there to pray, hoping to have a good relationship and everything will go fine for my ever complicated case. Love can't be forced, but I'm just hoping that god will answer to my prayers.

We even got the amulet from the temple and it's quite cute (:

After that, we took a cab to Taipei Main station then took a train to Zhong Xiao area (忠孝) to shop. Before that, we went to the Hello Kitty Sweets Cafe, wanting to have our lunch there.

Unfortunately, we gotta leave one person's name then head back at 1:30pm.

Note to Travellers: It's really packed. So better make a reservation to avoid the long queue.

We went to SOGO for shopping. Time to buy cosmetics from brands like NARS, Jill Stuart etc,

First time seeing a LIZ LISA shop. 

The things at LIZ LISA are really pretty but their prices are even "prettier". One hair band can cost SGD 40. It's way too expensive.

I don't mind spending on the clothes though. LOL.

Mummy, uncle and my sisters left SOGO and went to the cafe first while JJ and I stayed back to buy things. Bought an eyeshadow from Jill Stuart and a blusher from NARS.

We even went to SASA to buy some stuff. It's very different from the ones in SG. More varieties.

Ok, Back to the cafe.

And it's dessert time. 

The food there are mostly sold in set meals and it's really affordable. Each person will just need to spend $20 + to eat all this!

And I did tried Foie Gras in the cafe. Didn't know what's that till J told me back last year. LOL.

Indeed quite nice but I think it'll be nicer if there's some biscuit to eat with (like what my friends told me).

After lunch, uncle went back first and the rest of us went walked to Eslite book store. Books sold there are quite cheap, just that most of them are in Chinese.

I can read my novels in Chinese but I'll die from reading all sorts of books written in Chinese. LOL. It's hard to find English books there.

Note to travellers: We tried to the Miniature Museum to find that it's close on Monday. No choice, we gotta go back there on another day.

We went back to hotel and rest till dinner time.

2 novels; Vampire Hunter and some detective novel.

At night, we went to this 川巴子火锅楼 for steamboat. It's somewhere at Da An district. The cab uncle dropped my sisters and I at somewhere further away from the shop.

We ended up walking there. Luckily, I got my 3G to view the map =.=


Spicy steamboat. I never like it. HAHA. 

Mummy asked me to eat the duck's blood. It tasted like luncheon meat. HAHA.

We went back after dinner. Didn't eat much so I ended up buying fries, fried chicken and beer up to the hotel room.


Beers! Love those with fruity flavours. Haha. 

The beers are cheaper than Singapore. 3 cans for less than SGD 10? around there.

Monday
Start of my school holiday. YAYNESS ~

I was so free so I rot at home for the afternoon until it's time to meet Crystal for dinner . Our muscles were still aching from the massive dance weekend.

After that, we headed to the studio early for our flamenco class. It's my first lesson (:

It's really fun but hands and legs are still not use to it. Therefore, I looked like as if I was marching across the room . LOL .

I think I am going to be broke; Flamenco and ballet coaching fees. *fainted*

Tuesday
Finally, I have arranged another shoot for myself to update my portfolio.

Before going out, I got my mail ~

Here's my new maxi dress. Pretty, isn't it ?

I love Maxi dress and I own 4 of them. Super duper nice to wear out for a simple date .

I went out to meet Jing Quan for lunch before we headed to Botanic Garden for the shoot. Thank goodness that the day was sunny and it's good for the shoot (:

The shoot was really good, tiring since I was wearing my pointe shoes + doing uncountable Grand Jete with my existing muscle aches. LOL .

Yesterday
Mummy and I went to my grandma's house in the afternoon.
The weather was really warm, so we went to get some cold desserts . LOVE IT (:

Around late afternoon, I headed out to meet Amelia babe to get my Jill Stuart blusher. She got it for me from Hong Kong. Thanks babe !

My mum and sisters fall in love with it when the saw my pretty blusher. I think mum is going to spend lots of money when she visits HK in a few months time . LOL .

Oh ya, I was damn suay lah. I saw my maternal grandma when I was out to get my things. It's like WTF . I hope she didn't recognize me with my bright hair :/

At night, I went to Butter. I don't intend to club but since Jasmine asked me out, then I just went for it. I was supposed to meet Jasmine and she ended up didn't turn up .

I would say it's a wonderful night for me; that's where and when I know Z (shall not reveal his name for now).

It all started with Gillian babe asking me to bring him to put his bag, then I joined Ernest and his friends to club. Z and I ended up together and we went for a drink before dancing .

In between got many small details, but shall not type everything out.
I must say that I am really lucky to have met him that night (:

After clubbing, I went to have supper with Ernest, Chang J, Jerryca and Z . It was really funny and crazy when we were heading to Lau Pa Sat.

We went separate ways after supper since we were going 2 extreme ends, East and West. I went home with Ernest and Chang J since we were staying not too far away from one another.

Overall, it's really nice knowing them (:

Today
I spent my day rotting at home again, other than accompany my mum to go to StarHub to scold people and to buy groceries. LOL

At night, I was asked to go out for a movie date , which is on tomorrow. I am soooooo EXCITED ! I can't wait to go out tomorrow .

Ok, I shall end here. Got to paint my nails, pick a dress and think of what to bring out tomorrow . LOVE
