Anime Reviews - 金田一少年の事件簿 + Pressies from JAPAN

I spent my day doing my report and watching anime. It's the last day of CNY break but I seems to can't get enough of rest .

Within the CNY break, I finished watching another anime (AGAIN); 金田一少年の事件簿 (Kindaichi Shōnen no Jikenbo).

Here's the short synopsis:
Kindaichi was the grandson of a famous detective, and although had an IQ of 180, did not do well in school. He cracked many cases using logic and the leads he could find at the scenes of murder.

Overall, I will give a rating of 9 out of 10.
Although I love the story, but they have changed certain parts of the anime which I can notice almost immediately since I have read the manga before.

I have been reading the manga since I was 11. The first time I came upon this anime was when I was at my aunt's house and I was 9 years old at that time.

The mystery of the cases are really interesting that it captured my curiosity. Of course, there are some comedy scenes of Kindaichi doing stupid stuff to his childhood friend, Nanase Miyuki.

It's a must to watch if you love those mystery/detective anime (:

Monday
I was late for school ! Sigh~ it must be the after math of the CNY holiday.

Anyway, this was the first time in this semester whereby I will say 'I love monday' because school ends earlier than usual. 11am instead of 5pm. :)

However, it's still a miserable day for me because I have to rush out my formal report.

Yesterday
I was damn sleepy. I fell asleep at 5am because I was feeling unwell. But it's only for 2.5 hours :(

It's really a pain in the as to carry my laptop to school just for a stupid e-test which only last for half an hour :(

Nothing much, I just felt sleepy for the whole day . I need my beauty sleep .

Today
I went to school at 8am without knowing if there's any class in the morning. I wasn't the only one there.

It ended up there's no lesson till 9am.

I was supposed to have breakfast with Yiwen and Alif. However, Alif was sleeping at home and apparently, Yiwen's phone was off.

No choice, I have to eat my breakfast alone :/

After school, Alif and I went to Starbucks to have a drink.


And I bought potato salad for my lunch xD

I went home after sitting there for almost 2 hours. I couldn't wait to see what my mum has got for me from Japan .


My new cosmagic blusher and lavshuca eyeshadow from Japan.

Actually, mummy got me the wrong eyeshadow. But of course, I can live with this too XD


Mummy also got me leggings and leg warmers.

My mum is pretty observant because I really love different types of leg warmers. It good for me to wear around at home or for going out (:

Anime Reviews - しゅごキャラ + Fitting of pointe shoes + Unlucky Sunday

Thursday
I have yet to recover from my sickness . I was feeling tired and sleepy . Thank goodness that there's only one practical so that I could go home early .

I couldn't really get out of my bed after taking a nap . My head hurts and I couldn't stop sneezing and coughing for the whole day.

Anyway, I spent my day watching the anime しゅごキャラ (Shugo Kyara/Chara (for english title)) .

It's a long 127 episodes with many fillers . I was way too bored so I slowly watched the show despite knowing parts of story as I read the manga first .

Here's the plot:

The heroine of the story,Hinamori Amu, is a student at Seiyo Elementary.At first glance, her classmates refer to her as "cool and spicy" and rumors speculate about her personal life. However, her real personality is that of a very shy girl who has trouble showing her true personality.

One night, Amu wishes for the courage to show her "would-be" self, and the next morning finds three brightly colored eggs—red, blue, and green—in her bed. At first, she is alarmed, but realizes she must have really wished to change. These eggs hatch into three Guardian Characters: Ran, Miki, and Su. The Guardian Characters aid Amu in discovering who she truly is and help fulfill Amu's dreams.

Amu's life becomes much more complex as she struggles to deal with her "would-be" selves and the Seiyo Elementary's Guardians, who recruit Amu as the Joker to search for X Eggs and X Characters, the corrupted forms of people's dreams.

Meanwhile, the Easter Company is extracting people's eggs in search of a special egg called the Embryo. The Embryo is believed to grant any wish to the one who possesses it. However, the process creates X Eggs and X Characters. It is described as an all white egg while normal heart's eggs have a yellow heart and yellow wings on it.

Later on in the series a fourth (yellow) egg is born, this egg contains the Guardian Character Diamond of Hinamori Amu's set. She is only seen a few times in the series. However due to Amu's mixed feelings she becomes an x character, until about halfway to the end, where she was purified of the X on her, and then would appear in times of heavy crisis.

Overall, I will give a rating of 7.5 out of 10 . This series is way too long winded with many fillers inside . In addition, the last season was too short and I hate the cosplay part .

Still, it's a cute show, butI prefer the Ikuto, Tadase, Nagihiko, Kairi and Kuukai in manga .

Friday
I didn't go to school as I was still feeling unwell . Initially, I wanted to see a doctor but it will be a waste of money + I have no strength to go to a polyclinic during the day .

At night, dear accompanied me to century square to have a dinner . I felt better after eating some roti prata (don't ask me why I ate that. LOL)

Dear wanted me to see doctor but I refused . I ended up taking some medicine which I got from the past visit to doctor .

Yesterday
Again, ballet in the morning as per usual .

Ms Ng asked me to try the pointe shoes as Bloch is going to increase the price by double, and hence the next batch of pointe shoes will be expensive (will be Grishko by then) .

I tried 3 or 4 times and I finally got my size . I want to get mine soon, so that I can sew the elastics and ribbons on the shoes.

During evening, we didn't go for salsa as we were late already . We stayed at dear's house before heading off to Meiqi's birthday celebration.

Many babes were there; Jojo, Alison, Valerie, Chloe, Kit, Amelia, Angel and Amanda .

Today
For the whole day, I either sleep or do maths questions to prepare for tomorrow's maths paper . I am trying very hard to know everything by tonight !

During evening, I went out for ballet and I didn't know that I forgot about my wallet. I only realise when I was going to buy drink after class .

Worse, my ezlink card has not enough money to take bus ! Since my wallet wasn't with me, I couldn't top up . Curse it !

I ended up taking a cab back . However, I waited for very long and yet there wasn't any cab . Even there's cab, it simply drove off . Fuck those drivers !

Dear came down and pay for my cab fares . Luckily, he was still at my place if not I will be walking back home from Bedok .

Anime reviews - S·A スペシャル·エー + School reopen.

Monday
It's the starting of the new semester and I really hope that it will be a good one .

The day started early and ended late . I was kind of tired since it has been such a long time since I woke up at 6am for school .

Overall, the lecturers are alright though some seems very boring.

After school, I went to have my delicious yogurt at frolick !


My favourite grape flavoured yogurt withy marshmallow topping.

Yesterday
I hate the day because it started with 2 hours of Chemical Engineering Principle.

and let me tell you, I don't really like this lecturer. The sight of him is seriously getting on my nerves.

Anyway, school ended early and I went back home to sleep (:

Today
Wednesday is a short day for me and I love it !

I went back home to take a nap before heading to grandma's house . I really missed home cooked food as mummy wasn't free for the past weeks.

Anyway, I spent my whole night watching Special A and I finished the series.

Here's the plot:

Hanazono Hikari has always been second to Takishima Kei . When they were six years old, their pro-wrestling loving fathers introduced them to each other. Assuming that she was the best in wrestling, young Hikari challenged Kei to a wrestling match only to be thoroughly defeated by him.

Ever since that fateful incident, Hikari swore to beat Kei in school grades, sporting events or any competition. To do this, she has enrolled in the same school as Kei since elementary. Now she attends Hakusenkan, an ultra elite school, that costs her carpenter father a lot of money.

Hikari and Kei are the top two students in the school, with Kei holding firmly to that number one position. While Hikari considers Kei to be a rival and important friend, she is completely unaware that Kei is in love with her. The story primarily focuses on Hikari and her constant attempts to defeat her one and only rival, Kei, and how she finds love in their rivalry.

Hakusenkan (or Private Hakusen Academy) is the best school in the prefecture. The classes are separated into A-F based on grades. The A class is only open for the top students in each grade. The top seven within the A class, from first year to third year, are known as the Special A or SA class (hence the title).

The members of SA are highly respected. The SA class has its own building, a 19th-century styled greenhouse dubbed "The School's Paradise". They also have a kitchen, where Akira makes her afternoon tea. Class attendance is optional and Hikari is the only one who chooses to attend classes. Their uniform is also different from the standard uniform. The members of the SA have been close friends since elementary school.

Overall, I will give a rating of 8 out of 10. The story is somewhat more different from the manga and the drawing was quite a disappointment as compared to the manga.

However, I will give credits to the 2nd opening song . The seiiyu(s) really did a great job .

The plus point is that the comical moments didn't change much and I really have a good laugh, especially when Tadashi irritated Akira .

I am still reading the manga and I am going gaga over many characters ! hehe .

Anime: のだめカンタービレ- パリ編 / フィナーレ + Ballet + Daily rants.

Thursday
I went to meet Ashley for a short shoot. It's somewhere at Raffles Hotel . We were wearing Chinese and Malay Traditional costume for the shoot .

After that, we went to Suntec for shopping before having a meal at McDonald's .

I was spending my night watching のだめカンタービレ - パリ編 (Nodame Cantabile - Paris Hen). It's mainly about their life in Paris, continuation of the first season.

There are more wonderful music in this season, especially those orchestra music .

Overall, I will give a rating of 10 out of 10 . I find that this season is pretty good, although they have a piece that I hate the most; Mahler's Symphony No.2 Resurrection.

Like I have mentioned on the blog post when I went for my GEMS project concert, this piece was like 'dying' instead of the title 'Resurrection'.

Friday
I went for a haircut at Twister with my mummy and my sisters. Both mummy and I did treatment and touch up for our hair . Now it's healthy again !

Nothing much, just that we went around with mummy .

Her rented car really sucks. I still prefer the Mercedes 'cos the Toyota one was really slow and it makes my headache worse (I can't sit in car for very long).

Yesterday
As usual, I had my ballet class early in the morning . I really have lots of to practice for my grand battement. Kind of suck at it :/

After my morning class, I went to McDonald's to buy breakfast for dear and my sisters. I took a nap after my breakfast as I was too tired .

In the afternoon, both dear and I headed out for our classes. The afternoon class was less tiring, but I have a lot of work to do.

I must practice till I do nice glissade, petite jeté, jeté ordinaire, assemblé and balancé!

After my class, I went to dear's house before heading to Northpoint for dinner. Finally, I bought my new cleanser !

I think I will start writing reviews for some skincares which I have been using. It has been a long time (:

At night, I 'chiong' finished のだめカンタービレ- フィナーレ(Nodame Cantabile - Finale). The ending is quite acceptable .

Overall, I will give a rating of 10 out of 10 . My favourite pieces from this season will be Ravel's Piano Concerto in G Major and Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor, Op. 11 .

Sighh~ only if I have practiced hard and attended all piano lessons, maybe I could have finished one sonata .

I can't even finish playing all 3 movements from my favourite Piano Sonata K545 .

Today
I would say it's a boring day, other than watching Special A in the afternoon .

During evening, I failed to tie the hairstyle that I wanted to try out . Must be because of the haircut :/

I skipped my ballet class for the wedding dinner . Well, I have no choice because I am invited to the dinner .

No comments for the whole thing . I am just mere tired .

Anime reviews - 君に届け & のだめカンタービレ+ Rants about Bus drivers.

Monday
Last week of holidays and I am staying at home to rot as much as I can .

I spent my day watching 君に届け (Kimi ni Todoke) and I have finished the whole season. It's really nice and I can't wait for my sisters to buy the manga so that I can read !



Here's the plot:

Sawako Kuronuma, called Sadako by her classmates for her resemblance to the character from Ring, has always been feared and misunderstood because of her appearance. There are rumors that Sawako can see ghosts and curse people.

However, despite her appearances, she is a sweet and timid girl who longs to be able to make friends with everyone and be liked by everyone else. When her idol, popular boy Kazehaya, begins talking with her, everything changes. She finds herself in a new world, trying to make friends and talking to different people and she can't thank Kazehaya enough for giving her these opportunities.

Slowly, but surely, a sweet love is blossoming between the two as they will overtake any circumstance or clear obstacles in their way.

Overall, I will give a rating of 9 out of 10 . Indeed, this anime has a very good storyline and the seiiyu(s) have did a great job for the whole show .

However, I don't really like the ending . It's kind of expected that it will stop earlier than the manga 'cos usually when anime is shown, the manga hasn't end .

Still, it's worth to watch . I really have a great laugh for this romance comedy . It's highly recommended to watch !

Just like the past few days, I spent my day at home.

Of course, I continue to watch more anime . After finish watching 君に届け, I watched another new anime: のだめカンタービレ (Nodame Cantabile)

Nodame Cantabile is great for people who love music, especially classical and orchestra. The music is really nice !

This anime has 3 seasons, total of 23+11+11= 45 episodes (:



Here's the plot:

Noda Megumi, or "Nodame" is a piano student at Momogaoka College of Music. An extremely talented pianist who wants to be a preschool teacher, she prefers playing by ear rather than reading the music score. She is messy and disorganized, takes baths several days apart and loves to eat, sometimes stealing her friend's lunchbox when it is filled with delicacies.

Chiaki Shinichi is Momogaoka's top student. Born into a musical family, he is talented in piano and violin and has secret ambitions to become a conductor. An arrogant multi-lingual perfectionist who once lived abroad in the music capitals of the world as a young boy (namely Prague), he is trapped in Japan because of his childhood phobia of airplanes and the ocean.

They meet by accident. Nodame quickly falls in love, but it takes much longer for Chiaki to even begin to appreciate Nodame's unusual qualities. Their relationship causes them both to develop and grow. Along the way, they meet some crazy people (like Masumi, Mine, and Stresemann) and make lasting friendships.

Because of Nodame, Chiaki gets the opportunity to lead a student orchestra and begins to have a broader appreciation of people's musical abilities. Because of Chiaki, Nodame faces her fears and enters a piano competition. Opportunities open up as both begin taking risks, stretching themselves far more than they ever thought possible.

After graduation, Nodame succeeds in curing Chiaki from his phobia and they both move to Paris where Nodame continues her piano studies at the Conservatoire de Paris while Chiaki starts a professional career as a conductor. In Europe, they encounter new friends and rivals, as well as keep in touch with their friends from Japan.

Overall, I will give a rating of 10 out of 10. This anime is funny because Nodame tends to have wild imagination and she loved to make funny sounds like 'gyabo' etc.

I think the classical music played was great, even those whereby the 'purposely' played with mistakes for the anime .

The best part is they will show the title of the classical music played . So if someone wants to look for the music scores etc, it's easy .

I would say that it's almost perfect, at least for a classical music lover like me (:

Today
I was damn pissed off this morning because I got wakened up by my sisters .

Anyway, I slept till late afternoon and I prepared to go to my grandma's house . If not, I will sleep till even later that 4pm .

When I boarded up the bus, I was stopped by the stupid Bus 8 driver . I nearly quarrelled with him .

Indeed true that I was using my sister's ezlink card . But so what ?

If it's not because of the expensive fare and concession for tertiary students, I would have used my own card .

Aren't polytechnic students mostly come directly from secondary school ? Just because we don't wear uniforms like ITEs and JCs , do that make us not like a student ?

Seriously, something has to do for the fares . I know everything is unfair, but not every students have purchasing power for expensive transport .

Ok , whatever . I hate most bus drivers, particularly SBS (old, SG chinese ones).
